Overview
Bugfeed ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our website, Chrome extension, or embeddable widget.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) from Google.
Feedback Data
When users submit feedback through Bugfeed (via the widget or Chrome extension), we collect:
- The feedback message content
- Feedback type (bug, idea, or other)
- Email address (if provided)
- Screenshots (if captured by the user)
- Page URL and title where feedback was submitted
- Device diagnostics (browser, OS, screen size, timezone)
Chrome Extension Data
The Bugfeed Chrome extension only accesses data when you actively use it to submit feedback. It stores your preferences and authentication token locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. The extension does not track your browsing history or collect data in the background.
How We Use Your Information
- To deliver feedback from your users to your dashboard
- To send email notifications about new feedback (if enabled)
- To authenticate and manage your account
- To improve our services and fix bugs
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption at rest and in transit. Screenshots are stored securely and are only accessible to the site owner who received the feedback.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Feedback submitted through Bugfeed is shared only with the website owner who installed Bugfeed on their site. We may share data with service providers who help us operate our services (e.g., Supabase for database, Resend for emails).
Data Retention
Feedback data is retained according to your subscription plan. Free tier feedback is retained for 30 days. Paid plans include permanent retention. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@bugfeed.co.uk.
